Precision Construction completed a major coastal earthwork and dike rehabilitation project for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Pelican Island. The scope involved moving 1.5 million cubic yards of embankment material to raise and rebuild containment dikes, construct concrete structures, and reconfigure drainage systems throughout the site.
Working in challenging marsh conditions required specialized equipment and careful execution to maintain stability and environmental compliance. Our team coordinated the massive earthmoving operation while simultaneously constructing concrete structures and installing new drainage infrastructure to support the rehabilitated dike system.
The project’s scale and coastal location demanded expertise in marine construction, soil stabilization, and environmental controls. We successfully navigated these challenges while meeting the Corps of Engineers’ stringent quality and safety standards, delivering critical flood protection infrastructure for the surrounding area.
