The Carencro Police Department has recently completed the construction of a new state-of-the-art facility located at 5025 North University Avenue.
This development aims to enhance the department’s operational capabilities and serve the growing community better.
Key Features of the New Facility:
- Main Building: A 17,494-square-foot structure housing administrative offices, training rooms, and modernized evidence storage facilities.
- Maintenance Building: An additional 5,000-square-foot space dedicated to the upkeep of departmental equipment and vehicles.
- Emergency Operations Center (EOC): Integrated within the main building, the EOC is designed to coordinate responses during emergencies, ensuring efficient communication and resource management.
Timeline:
- Groundbreaking: The project commenced with a groundbreaking ceremony on December 20, 2022.
- Completion: Construction was completed in December 2023, with the facility becoming fully operational shortly after that.
This new facility represents a significant upgrade from the previous station, established in 2005, and is designed to accommodate the anticipated population growth in Carencro over the next 25 years.
